At Notre Dame, the pot is calling the kettle black...

Fr. Z fisks a statement by Fr. Jenkins of Notre Dame University in which he discusses the case of those arrested amidst the great Notre Dame scandal.   I couldn't believe the hypocrisy of what Fr. Jenkins says here:

“In the weeks leading up to Notre Dame’s Commencement on May 17, 2009, a number of people violated University policies on campus demonstrations.

The pot is calling the kettle black. I don't see how you can compare people violating university policies, with the "in your face" defiance by Notre Dame University of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.  The local bishop, Msgr. John D'Arcy called it a "terrible breach" between Notre Dame and the Catholic church.

Jenkins continues...

They were given repeated warnings by law enforcement officials, and then, when they persisted, they were arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass.
Repeated warning?  How about the 83 public "warnings" voiced by Catholic bishops across the US? and, the more the 360,000 signed objections from others?
Utter hypocrisy.
