Annoucements...

There are a few things I would like to pass along and this post may get edited as I am reminded of more...

Friday Fish Fry at Grotto

EDIT: There is NO FISH FRY on March 13th. It will resume the following Friday.

Support the parish fish fry which is open from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Prices were dropped from last year, but I don't have the details with me at the moment. It is $5.00 for adults (two pieces of fish, cole slaw, fries, dinner roll and drink), $3.00 for children (one piece of fish, with sides), and for a family up to eight, $20.00 (2 adult meals and 6 kids meals).

Many people show up around 5:30 or so, eat, then head off to Mass at 7:00, followed by the Stations of the Cross. The nightly Mass can run as little as 30 minutes so keep that in mind when eating with regards to the Communion fast.

Saturday, March 7th: St. Monica Sodality Mass at 4:00pm.

Join the St. Monica Sodality at the 4:00pm Mass each first Saturday of the month. What is the St. Monica Sodality? From the St. Monica Sodality of Michigan website:

The Saint Monica Sodality of Michigan is an organization of Roman Catholics; clergy, religious and laity who, in imitation of St. Monica, persevere in hopeful prayer for the return of loved ones to the full practice of the Catholic Faith. We offer support, by prayer and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, to those who have experienced the departure of loved ones from the faith. Through our practice of the faith that includes frequent reception of the Sacraments, and with all humility, we hope and trust in God that our words and actions will also inspire others to embrace Catholicism.

Get there early - perhaps 45 minutes before Mass and ask where you can add the names of your loved ones and friends to the list for the liturgy. There are also prayers before Mass and it is the best time for confession (Grotto is the confession capital of Metro Detroit)

Sunday, March 8: Baby Shower to Benefit Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Right to Life - Lifespan is having it's 20th annual Baby Shower to assist local pregnancy centers. New or used (but useable) baby or maternity items. Drop your gift off in the school inside the door. Or, checks can be made out for monetary donations, to Imago Dei (take in to the gift shop). Imago Dei - a local crisis pregnancy center is always looking for volunteers. Call tom or Faye at 313-372-8803.

Sunday, March 8: $1.00 Spaghetti Benefit Dinner and Talk by Michael Voris
Following the Noon Mass, Michael Voris of Real Catholic TV and the One True Faith will be giving a talk during a $1.00 spaghetti dinner. (Yeah - you read right - on dollar!). Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this Sunday.
